FireWatch 2010 Trial Tower Locations
Two trial locations were selected – Otway Ranges in Victoria and in Tumut New South Wales.
The Federal Attorney-General’s Department in consultation with State Government agencies determined the locations for the first Australian Trials of early bushfire smoke detection systems in February–May 2010.
The two locations selected were in the Otway Ranges in Victoria and in Tumut in New South Wales (pictured).
Specific trial tower locations in New South Wales were Mt Tumorrama (sensor images below) and Compass Hill.
Victoria trial tower locations were, Mt Cowely (sensor images below), Mt Porndon (sensor images below), Peters Hill and Crowes Lookout.
